WHAT IS TUESDAY'S CHILDREN?
Tuesday's Children is a non-profit family service organization founded by family and friends of September 11th victims. With a focus on family resiliency and strength through the community, Tuesday's Children, in partnership with recognized leaders in the field of child development, family advocacy and mentoring initiatives has developed an innovative platform of programs designed to address the ongoing needs of thousands of children coping with the 9/11 tragedy.
NEW YORK METS AND GLAVINE'S INVOLVEMENT
During his tenure with the New York Mets, Tom Glavine was involved with Tuesday's Children. The Mets organization, in conjunction with TC invite kids to Shea Stadium on several days throughout the season for a pre-game picnic and the chance to rub elbows with the players. Glavine (as well as other current and former Mets players) contributed $5,000 to Career Paths, a program of Tuesday's Children. Career Paths offers families a working partnership with TC by assisting with college applications, the acceptance process, summer internships and post-graduate career guidance. As the New York Mets' 2005 Roberto Clemente Award honoree, Glavine donated his $2,500 check to Tuesday's Children.
