Trying out a new look
I think I have everything more or less working with the new look. I wanted something different. I’ve had the same basic blog look for awhile now. It was time for a change….

I’ve been dealing with an irritating cold the last few days. Sneezing, scratchy throat, stuffy/runny nose, coughing… all that good stuff. I guess the travel and being around a bunch of random people on the planes, etc., got me. I’ve been feeling much better the last couple of days, but my energy is still completely zapped. I ran 3 miles Tuesday and 5 miles Wednesday, then got sick so skipped running Thursday-Saturday. I went out on Sunday to run and somehow managed to drag myself through 3 miles. No way I could have run more. I’ll try it again tomorrow morning and see if I can get a little farther. I figure 3 miles is better than nothing.
My sister is doing “ok.” Some days she’s okay and others she’s really sad. My heart hurts for her.

I’ve been off the radar for several days and it’s not because of anything good.
My sister lost the baby.
She was 7 months pregnant and she went in last Tuesday for a regular checkup. Her bloodcount was really low (close to needing a transfusion) so the doctor wanted her to get on iron pills and come back in a week. (She has ulcerative colitis which causes some bleeding) Since she had had a little bit of bleeding a few days before, he also wanted her to get an ultrasound and get checked out. They found a small tear in the placenta. But, everything else looked great.

My veterinarian’s web site, which I designed, is now officially up and running:
http://www.phoenixmountainah.com/
And, of course I used a photo of Clank and Ratchet in the rotating photos on the page.
I tried to use one of the cats too, but I couldn’t find a good one that worked for those dimensions. There are a couple of pages that still need content, but those will be added in time.
I’m bad at this…
I’m bad at blogging. I just have absolutely nothing interesting to blog about, so I either end up forcing myself to type up a really boring update or I just … don’t post anything. I’ve been doing the last option lately.
I”m still running (in this hot AZ weather where it will be 90 degrees at 5 a.m. ugh). Usually I’ll do 7 miles, but some days it’s 5 miles and some days it’s 8 or 9 or more. Just depends on how I feel.

I ordered myself a Camelbak – this one – to use while running. It’s getting so hot here and I hate having to carry a bottle of water or gatorade in my hand (and was worried the hydration belts would bug me) so I got this. Before getting it, I would leave a bottle of Gatorade on my front porch and run back to my house to drink when I needed to. Which worked but… ehh…
I ran with it this morning and it seemed to work well and didn’t bother me.
Read MoreMirrors … ugh
I bought two pairs of shorts and a t-shirt from American Eagle yesterday. The shorts are a size 0. I was pretty stoked I could actually fit in them (though from reading reviews online it sounds like that style of short tends to run a little big, so it’s probably not a true 0.)
Anyway. Then today I put them on and look in the mirror and I can’t shake the feeling that they make my legs look fat. WHY do I think this way? Why do I see that in the mirror when I’m wearing a freakin’ zero? I don’t understand it. It’s frustrating.
