Also, Tom will host his 11th annual Field of Dreams Golf Tournament, benefiting CURE Childhood Cancer, Monday, Sept. 8th. Good luck to all of those involved with the event.

August 28: I finally remembered to catch Atlanta Braves: Straight Up that's been airing all month on SportSouth. It features Braves players answering random questions such as favorite dessert, who would play them in a movie, etc. I've added screen captures to the Gallery and posted a video with the relevant Tom Glavine portions of the show. Enjoy!

August 26: I've added an article to the Current News section with an update on Tom Glavine following his elbow surgery last week. He is just a little sore and he is still unsure whether he will pitch next season. I've also added a couple of 2008 Quotes to the site as well.

August 21: According to David O'Brien's AJC blog, Tom Glavine's surgery on his torn flexor tendon was successful.   Apparently they also did a minor cleanup on the labrum in Glavine's shoulder while they had him under. You can read O'Brien's full comments in the Site Blog. I've added an article about it to the Current News section.

August 20: Tom Glavine needs surgery to repair his torn flexor tendon in his elbow but does NOT need ligament transplant surgery. (Whew!) The surgery will mean a 4 to 5 month rehabilitation and he'll at least have a chance to pitch next season, if the Braves are open to the idea. Tendon surgery will be performed Thursday. I've added an article to the Current News section.

August 18: I've added an article to the Current News section talking about Tom Glavine's scheduled MRI for Wednesday. According to the article, if flexor tendon surgery is the answer, Glavine expects the surgery to be performed Thursday.

August 16: Tom Glavine's season is over and he is likely headed for surgery. He has an appointment with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham on Wednesday regarding his elbow. If it is just the flexor tendon that needs to be repaired, he would have the surgery (3-4 months recovery time) and consider pitching next season. If the ligament is also damaged (12-16 months recovery), he would not have ligament-transplant surgery and would retire. A damaged flexor tendon would need to be repaired either way. I've added an article to the Current News  section about all of this.

August 15: Braves.com has pictures from Tom Glavine's August 13th visit to Dolvin Elementary as part of "Take a Braves Player To School" Day. I've added them to the Photo Gallery. They are great pictures, so be sure to check them out! I've updated career numbers in the Stats section as well. August 5: Well, despite what that Braves.com article I linked up yesterday said, it appears Tom Glavine will NOT be pitching in the upcoming Arizona series. Instead, he'll make another rehab assignment. This one will be Saturday, Aug. 9th for the Mississippi Braves. To read more on that, click HERE. I've updated the "Next Start" to the right and there is a new Site Blog up.

August 4: Tom Glavine made a minor league rehab start tonight for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. He went four innings, giving up one run on three hits, walking one and striking out four. Full results can be found in the Site Blog. According to Braves.com, if Tom feels good over the next couple of days, he plans for his next start to be in Arizona in the upcoming Braves-Diamondbacks series. You can read about that in the Current News section. (YAY) ETA: I've set up a section in the Gallery with several photos from Tom's Myrtle Beach appearance.

August 3: Don't forget: Tom Glavine makes his first minor league rehab start tomorrow with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans as they face off against the Kinston Indians at 7:05 p.m. ET. Gameday audio (free w/registration) is available on milb.com. Provided he has no setbacks, he is tentatively scheduled for a second rehab start - with Mississippi - on Saturday, Aug. 9th. ETA: Braves announcer Skip Caray died today at the age of 68. Condolences go out to his family and all who knew him, both in person and through his work. I've added some quotes from Glavine about Skip to the site.

July 22: Tom Glavine threw another successful bullpen session today. According to David O'Brien's AJC blog, Glavine said he was quite a bit better than his Saturday bullpen. The plan is for him to throw in the bullpen again on Friday and then throw a simulated game next week. After that, he might be ready for a rehab assignment. You can read more on this HERE. ETA: I've added an article from a few days ago on Glavine mentoring Jo-Jo Reyes.

July 19: Tom Glavine threw a bullpen session today at about 60% effort. He was able to throw all of his pitches and had good control and feel for both his changeup and curveball. The plan is for him to throw three bullpen sessions on the next road trip and possibly a two-inning simulated game on the following homestand. He's shooting for a mid-August return date. I've added an article about this to the Current News section. There is also a new Site Blog.

July 18: Tom Glavine played catch from a distance of 130 feet Thursday with no problems. He plans to throw off the bullpen mound on Saturday. For more on that, click HERE.

July 17: Tom Glavine is bringing back "Glavine's Field of Dreams" golf tournament, this time to benefit CURE Childhood Cancer. The event, in its 11th year, takes place Monday, Sept. 8th at the Country Club of the South. For more information, visit the CURE page.
