Threw five or more innings and gave up two ER or less in seven of 13 starts this season.

Made his return from a two-month stint on the disabled list for a torn flexor tendon on August 14th in a start against the Chicago Cubs . . . was put back on the DL one day later with continued elbow problems which led to season-ending elbow and shoulder surgery.

Left his June 10th start (against the Cubs) with a sore left elbow ... Lasted 3 innings, giving up 4 runs ... Was placed on the disabled list for the second time this season ... an MRI revealed a small tear in the flexor tendon that will sideline him for a month.

Notched a season high five strikeouts against the Cincinnati Reds May 30th . . . worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on five hits in a no decision.

Won his second straight start of the season May 20th in the Braves' 6-1 win over the Mets . . . first time facing the Mets since 2002 . . . Went 6.0 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits . . . retired the last 17 batters he faced. Moved into 30th place all-time in innings pitched.

Notched his first win of the season (and his first as an Atlanta Braves since 2002) in the Braves' 8-6 win over the Phillies May 14th . . . Went 5.2 innings, giving up 4 runs . . . allowed 4 hits, and 2 walks while striking out 4. Had gone winless in his last 10 starts prior to the win.

With his three strikeouts on May 9 at Pittsburgh, moves ahead of Warren Spahn into sole possession of 24th place on the all-time strikeouts list.

Got his first hit and RBI of the season on May 4 vs Cincinnati ... went 1-1 with a single, RBI, run scored ... also had a sac bunt on the day.

Came off his first-ever stint on the disabled list to pitch 6 innings against the Nationals (April 29) ... gave up 2 runs on 6 hits, walking 1 and striking out 2 ... got saddled with a no decision in the Braves' 6-3 loss.

Landed on the disabled listed for the first time in his career with a strained right hamstring on April 18 (retroactive to April 14)

Strained his right hamstring in a start against the Washington Nationals April 13 ... Left the game in the first inning after throwing 16 pitches and not recording an out. It was his shortest outing since May 16, 1989, when he lasted just seven pitches against the Cubs before leaving with a sprained ankle.

Continued his success pitching in Colorado, going 6.1 scoreless innings against the Rockies on April 7, giving up 3 hits and 3 walks, while collecting 3 strikeouts ... got a No Decision in the Braves eventual 2-1 loss.

Pitched in the Braves home opener on March 31, getting a no decision going 5.0 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs (1 earned). He struck out 3 and walked 2 ... Scored the Braves first run in the game after getting on base with a walk.
